REGION
16 HIGH POINT AWARD PROGRAM
 |
Region 16 is offering members
the opportunity to compete for annual year end high
point awards. This program is offered to members of
Local Region 16 Clubs and direct AHA members
residing in Region 16 that own or lease Purebred
Arabian and Half-Arabian horses that compete in
either the show ring, dressage, competitive distance
riding or reining events.

A $5.00 annual fee will apply for each horse and
rider combination nominated. No fee will be charged
for Equitation and Showmanship nominations if the
Junior rider/handler has already been nominated as a
horse and rider combination. Points earned from
April 1- October 31 will be eligible for the
program. Points for the AHA/USEF Division will be
calculated from show results posted on the AHA
website.

THREE DIVISIONS WILL BE
OFFERED: |
- All Non AHA/USEF
recognized or rated shows and Arabian Community
Shows within Region 16..
- All Recognized AHA/USEF
Local Shows within Region 16 including the
Region 16 Championship Show
- Distance Riding –
including Competitive, Endurance & Judged
Pleasure Trail Rides held within Region 16 and
recognized by AHA, EUSA, CEF, AERC, NATRC, ECTRA,
and breed associations.

The awards will be presented at
two existing club banquets held within Region 16.
The award recipients will be allowed the option of
choosing at which banquet they wish the award
presented. There will be a fee for the dinner at the
banquet. Any Member of Region 16 may choose to have
an AHA Achievement Award, AHA or Region 16 Milestone
Achievement Award or Frequent Rider Award they have
earned presented at the banquet.

- Owner or lessee must be a
current member in good standing with a Region 16
Club or AHA throughout the show year. Points
will not be given for classes entered before
date of membership.
- Please submit a
Nomination Form along with your first report of
points or scores and the $5.00 fee.
- Horse must be a
registered Arabian or Half-Arabian. Please send
a copy of registration papers with initial
submission of the Nomination/Reporting form.
- Points from Non Rated
shows will only count if you have the show
secretary sign the points reporting form you
submit. A copy of the show prize list cover or
class list cover must accompany points reporting
form.
- POINT DEADLINE is
November 31st (postmarked) of the recording
year. However, YOU MUST SUBMIT POINTS WITHIN 30
DAYS OF THE PARTICIPATING SHOW OR EVENT AND BE
SURE TO SUBMIT ALL POINTS.
- A MINIMUM OF THREE SHOWS
MUST BE SUBMITTED FOR CONSIDERATION. A MAXIMUM
OF FIVE SHOWS WILL COUNT TOWARDS POINT TOTAL.
- Champions will receive a
ribbon and a special trophy. Reserve Champions
will receive a ribbon.
- A Walk-Trot rider may not
cross enter into any division that requires a
canter or lope.
- Points will be awarded in
the following manner:
Regular Classes- 1st=5 points, 2nd=4 points,
3rd=3 points, 4th= 2 points, 5th= 1 point.
Championship Classes- 1st=7 points, 2nd=6
points, 3rd= 5 points, 4th= 4 points, 5th= 3
points.
Regional Championship Classes- 1st =14 points,
2nd 12 points, 3rd =10 points, 4th =8 points,
5th = 6 points.
Scores for Competitive, Endurance Rides,
Dressage & Judged Pleasure Trail Rides will be
added and divided by the number of competitions
reported.
- Entries must be the same
horse and rider combination.
- Points for Equitation and
Showmanship classes will be awarded to the
rider/handler. The rider/handler must submit a
nomination form specifically for the Equitation
or Showmanship Division if they did not nominate
in a horse/rider combination.
- Ties will be broken and
the award given to the rider/handler or horse
that has the highest single score out of the 3
minimum scores submitted and the 5 maximum
scores counted towards the division award.
- Prizes will be awarded to
the Owner or Lessee only. (Exception equitation,
Showmanship and Walk-Trot).
