REGION 16 AHA, INC. FUTURITY RULES
"Rules for mares nominated in 2006 and prior" |

THE REGION 16 FUTURITY Is a
program for Purebred and Half/Anglo Arabian Horses owned by
members of Region 16. Horses must be nominated
BEFORE BIRTH and will be shown in their 3
YEAR OLD year. You must be a full affiliate member of
IAHA through a Region 16 Club or Association for the duration of
your participation In the Region 16 Futurity.
A COPY OF YOUR IAHA MEMBERSHIP CARD MUST ACCOMPANY YOUR
NOMINATION OR RENOMINATION FORM. Associate membership in a
local club or association or associate membership to AHA does
not qualify to participate in the Region 16 Futurity.
ORIGINAL NOMINATION FEE OF $5.00 PER MARE: The dam of
the unborn foal must be nominated prior to the
DECEMBER 31 DEADLINE of the year the mare is
bred. This one time fee allows the foal upon birth entry in both
halter and performance divisions.
NO FOAL MAY BE ENTERED ONCE IT HAS BEEN BORN. AN ORIGINAL
NOMINATION MAY BE MADE AFTER THE DECEMBER 31 DEADLINE AND BEFORE
MARCH 1. A LATE FEE OF $25.00 MUST BE PAID AT THIS TIME.
RENOMINATION FEE OF $25.00 PER HORSE. PER YEAR FOR HALTER
DIVISION: You may enter the halter division by paying
the $25.00 per year fee before the
DECEMBER 31 DEADLINE. If you miss a year you may
back enter by paying the $25.00 per year fee and a $50.00 per
year late fee for each year missed.
RENOMINATION FEE OF
$25.00 PER HORSE. PER YEAR FOR PERFORMANCE DIVISION: You
may enter the performance division by paying the $25.00 per year
fee before the
DECEMBER 31 DEADLINE. If you miss a year you may
back enter by paying the $25.00 per year fee and a $25.00 per
year late fee for each year missed
NOMINATION AND
RENOMINATION FEES MUST BE POSTMARKED BY THE DUE DATE AND ARE NON
REFUNDABLE AND NO CREDIT FOR THESE FEES WILL BE ALLOWED.
FEE TIME TABLE:
Original nomination fee Is due by Dec. 31 of the
year the mare is bred.
Weanling year renomination fees are due by Dec 31.
of the foals weanling year.
1 year old year renomination fees are due by Dec 31.
of the foals 1 year old year.
2 year old year renomination fees are due by Dec 31.
of the foals 2 year old year.
3 year old year renomination fees are due by May 31
of the foals 3 year old year.
You must decide which performance division your
horse will show In and mark this on the renomination
form in the appropriate place.
The three year old year is the year In which your
horse will be shown at the Region 16 Show. Your
horse will not be allowed to show unless all fees
have been paid. You must enter your horse in the
Region 16 Show in the appropriate futurity class.
There is no class entry fee, but you must fill out a
show entry form. Stall fees and all other show fees
will apply.
ALL NOMINATION AND RENOMINATION FORMS MUST BE FILLED
OUT COMPLETELY. INCOMPLETE FORMS WILL BE RETURNED.
IF NOT RETURNED 31 DEADLINE THESE FORMS WILL BE
CONSIDERED LATE ENTRIES AND LATE FEES WILL APPLY.
IF A FUTURITY FOAL IS SOLD IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY
OF THE NEW OWNER TO INFORM THE REGION 16 FUTURITY OF
THE CHANGE IN OWNERSHIP. THE NEW OWNER MUST BE A
FULL AFFILIATE MEMBER OF IAHA THROUGH A REGION 16
CLUB OR ASSOCIATION.
FUTURITY ENTRIES MAY BE SHOWN IN ANY REGION 16 CLASS
IF ELIGIBLE. Performance classes will be Judged In
accordance with USAE Junior Horse class
specifications; except as modified by Region 16
Performance Futurity Rules. Emphasis will be placed
upon suitability to become a show horse.
RENOMINATION FORMS WILL BE SENT 60 DAYS PRIOR TO
DEADLINES OF DECEMBER 31 AND MAY 31.

ALL
NOMINATION AND RE NOMINATION FEES WILL BE RETURNED TO
PARTICIPANTS IN THE FORM OF PAYOUT MONEY. REGION 16 WILL
ADD $1000 TO THE TOTAL OF MONIES PAID OUT. THIS WILL BE
DIVIDED BETWEEN THE APPROPRIATE DIVISIONS BASED ON
ENTRIES. REGION 16 WILL ALSO BEAR THE EXPENSE OF
OPERATING THE FUTURITY PROGRAM AND THE COST OF RIBBONS
AND TROPHIES.

HALTER FUTURITY RULES
 |
- Purebred Arabians
shall be shown as three year olds only in the mare,
stallion or gelding classes.
- A purebred Arabian
colt upon being gelded may be transferred to the
gelding class at any time prior to close of entries
of the Region 16 Show. The year the horse is to be
shown. This applies to Purebred Arabians only as
Half/Anglo Arabians are not permitted to show as
stallions In halter or in hand classes.
- Half/Anglo Arabians
may be shown in mare or gelding/stallion classes.

PERFORMANCE FUTURITY RULES

Purebred Arabians and Half/Anglo Arabians shall be
shown as three year olds only In English or Western
Futurity classes and may not have been shown
previously In anything other than a standard snaffle
bit or hackamore (bosal). Half/Anglo Arabian
Stallions may be shown In performance classes only.
- A
hackamore (bosal) shall be rounded in shape and
constructed of braided rawhide of leather and must
have a flexible non metallic core. Attached reins
may be of hair, rope or leather. NO other material
Is to be used in conjunction with a hackamore,
i.e.:, steel, metal or chains. Mechanical or rope
hackamores are prohibited.
- A
standard snaffle bit Is defined as a center jointed,
single, rounded, unwrapped smooth mouth piece of
3/8" diameter metal as measured 1" from the ring
with a gradual decease to the center of the snaffle.
The rings may be from 2" to 4" outside diameter of
either a loose type, egg butt, D type or center
mounted
without cheeks. If a curb
strap is used it must be attached below the reins.
- Only a
running martingale may be used on English type
horses. No tie down, drop nose bands, running rings,
tongue ties or any artificial devices used in
conjunction with the bit are permitted in any class.

REGION 16 YEARLING FUTURITY RULES

THE REGION 16 YEARLING
FUTURITY
is a program for Purebred and Half/Anglo Arabian Horses
owned by members of Region 16. Horses must be nominated

YEARLING YEAR. You must be a full affiliate
member of AHA through a Region 16 Club or Association
for the duration of your participation in the Region 16
Futurity. Associate membership in a local club or
association or Associate membership to AHA does not
qualify to participate in the Futurity.

year late fee for each year missed.
NOMINATION AND RENOMINATION FEES MUST BE POSTMARKED BY THE
DECEMBER 31 DEADLINE OF THE YEAR THE MARE IS BRED AND
ARE NON REFUNDABLE AND NO CREDIT FOR THESE FEES WILL BE
ALLOWED.
At time of show a $100.00 entry fee will be assessed.
All monies that are collected for the yearling class
will be paid back as prized money. The yearling class
will be setup as an Amateur To Handle Class.
FEE TIME TABLE:

Weanling year re nomination fees are due by Dec 31. of
the foals weanling year.

Yearling year re nomination fees are due by May 31. of
the foals yearling year.

Class fees are due with the Region 16 entries the year
being shown.

Your horse will not be allowed to show unless all fees
have been paid. You must fill out an entry form and
enter your horse in the Region 16 Show in the
appropriate futurity class. The class entry fee is $100
payable when you make your entry. Stall fees and all
other show fees will apply.

ALL NOMINATION AND RENOMINATION FORMS MUST BE FILLED OUT
COMPLETELY. INCOMPLETE FORMS WILL BE RETURNED. IF NOT
RETURNED WITHIN 15 DAYS FROM THE DATE OF RETURN NOTICE

FEES WILL APPLY.

IF A FUTURITY FOAL IS SOLD IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE
NEW OWNER TO INFORM THE REGION 16 FUTURITY OF THE CHANGE

YEARLING HALTER FUTURITY RULES
 |
-
Purebred Arabians shall be shown as yearlings in the
mare, stallion/gelding classes.
-
Half/Anglo Arabians may be shown in mare or
gelding/stallion classes.
- All
Yearling halter classes are to be showed by an
Amateur to Handle.
