REGION 16 TO BE AFFILIATED WITH THE EQUINE JOURNAL
To All Region 16 Membership Chairs!!!!

Region 16 is pleased to announce that starting with the 2004 membership year Region 16 will be affiliated with the Equine Journal!

At the September meeting your Delegates approved switching affiliation from The Arabian News to the Equine Journal. Region 16 will pay for one subscription per household. One person in the household must have an Affiliated Membership with the Arabian Horse Association thru your Club.

Each Club and affiliated member/person will receive special rates & discounts from the Journal Please check with the Journal for more information.

Each club also has the option to sign up any non AHA affiliate members (i.e. Associate, Life, Honorary, etc.) and they will be entitled to the same benefits. The cost to your club is 7.00 per subscription for the 2004 membership year. You as membership chair will be responsible to forward any additional subscriptions directly to the Journal along with payment for those subscriptions.

As Region 16 Secretary, I will be forwarding all the AHA affiliate names & addresses to the Journal. In order for any new affiliate members to receive the benefits and magazine, I will need you to forwarded their names and addresses to me so that I can cross reference it for duplicates and then forward it to the Journal. This is where your help and cooperation is vital.

We hope your club is as excited about this as the Delegates and Officers of Region 16 are. We hope your club and its members will benefit from this affiliation and will help promote your club and the Arabian horse. --

EQUINE JOURNAL INFORMATION

Dear Region 16 Members,

I would like to take a minute to detail for you the benefits you will
receive through Region 16's new affiliation with the Equine Journal. As Marlene Kriegbaum mentioned in her email, there are a number of special offers and discounts being given to all Region 16 members through this new affiliation.

Beginning in 2004, each Region 16 member will receive a subscription to the Equine Journal mailed to their door. Individual members also receive advertising benefits. Each Region 16 member will receive a coupon for one free Classified Ad (valued at $20.00) and a one-time free Hitching Post Ad (a pictorial classified valued at $50.00). Any display advertising that members place in the Journal throughout the year will receive a 10% discount. Be sure to tell your members to mention that they are part of Region 16 when they call to place their advertising.

We would like to encourage you to submit your clubs' news for placement in the Journal. Region 16 has asked that individual clubs submit their news directly to the Journal. News is due on the 20th of the month SIX WEEKS prior to the publication date. This means that for February the affiliation news deadline is December 20th. Keep in mind, the February issue will be in mailboxes between the 15th-20th of January. Please feel free to begin submitting news before the 2004 calendar year begins, as we are already at work on our first few 2004 issues. Please forward all news either by email to kedwards@equinejournal.com by fax to (603) 357-7851, or by mail to: Equine Journal; 103 Roxbury St.; Keene, NH 03431; Attn: Karen Edwards. Please note on your news the writer's name, club name, and the fact that the club is a Region 16 member. This will ensure proper placement in the magazine.

Finally, I am attaching a document that includes Frequently Asked Questions about Affiliations. Please note that these standard questions differ slightly from Region 16's affiliation process when it comes to submitting names and monies. All information regarding new membership will be directed through Marlene Kriegbaum. All other information on the FAQ sheet is the same.

We are very excited about this new affiliation agreement between Region 16 and the Equine Journal. If there are any questions we can answer or anything we can do to make the transition easier for your clubs, please do not hesitate to contact us. I can be reached either at this email address or at (800) 742-9171 x102, or call Natalee Roberts at extension 101. We look forward to working with each of you.

Sincerely,
Karen Edwards
