many new offerings from Region 16 AHA, The Arabian

Region 16 AHA offers programs for the new as well as
the experienced Arabian owner. Our
Region 16 AHA Futurity
program is three separate payback programs in which
Yearling, Three Year Old, 4 & 5 Year Old horses can
participate and earn money. In 2011 $5499.00 was
paid out at the Region 16 AHA Championship Show. We
also have added a Sport Horse Division. For more

The
Region 16 AHA $1,000.00 Scholarship is awarded each
year to a qualified individual having involvement
with Arabian horses. This opportunity is not just
for youths, but includes adult amateurs. Click on

Scholarship link to learn more about this opportunity. AHA offers the
Sweepstakes payback program and our many
Local Clubs offer many more opportunities to participate.
2011 will mark the second year of our Region 16 High
Point Award Program. We also offer a Frequent Rider
Achievement Award Program. If you do not participate
in the show ring you may earn awards just for using
your horse in everyday living. Check out the

Pleasure riding is how the majority of Arabian
owners enjoy their Arabian horses and Region 16 AHA
and its local clubs offer several opportunities to
experience the trails of the Northeast and the
camaraderie of your fellow riders. If you are
interested in organizing a trail ride in your area,

Everyone is invited to experience the Region 16 AHA
Championship Show held each year at the NYS
Fairgrounds in
Syracuse, NY. This is a showcase of the finest of
Arabian and Half-Arabian horses in all disciplines
including Hunter Jumper, Dressage and Sport Horse
classes. Check the
calendar of events for more information.
I
would like to take this opportunity to welcome as
your new Region 16 Vice Director, Don Schwartz and
as your new AHYA Youth Director, Amanda Baldwin. Don
will serve out the remainder of the term of Marlene
Kriegbaum our past Vice Director who has moved to
Denver and assumed the position of National Show
Secretary for AHA and Alayna Mala who has moved out
of our Region to pursue a higher education in
Delaware. We wish Alayna and Marlene the best in
their new pursuits.
There is certainly more that can be said about our
website and the Arabian Horse, but we will leave it
