Region 16 is please to
announce the recipient of this years
1,000.00 scholarship goes to Bailey Richards
of East Longmeadow Mass

10
years ago Lynne DeAdder picked up the phone
and was greeted by a man with an eight year
old daughter who absolutely loved horses. At
that time Double A supposedly had no more
room in their lesson program, which brought
on a thirty minute conversation elaborating
on Bailey obsession with horses. Bailey
states " I don't know whether my dad truly
knew what he had just persuaded Lynne to do,
but if he were to look back now, I doubt he
would change a thing. This conversation was
the beginning of my involvement with
Arabians." "Since that day my commitment to
the breed has only strengthened. Whether I'm
teaching the lesson children how to tack up,
or out in the ring helping a friend with a
show horse, I am truly enjoying myself. "I
know exactly what makes me happy, and that
is an Arabian horse."

Bailey is certainly well known in the
Arabian show world! Among her many wins are
-
One Reserve Canadian National Championship
Two Canadian National Top Tens
Eight Regional and East Coast Championships
One Regional Reserve Championship
Fifteen Regional and East Coast Top Five
Championships
Numerous Class A Championships
AHA Recognized Rider of Honor
AHA Recognized Rider of Supreme Honor

"Without the generosity and compassion of my
companions I would not have the list of
accomplishment that I have written above. I
was able to show eight seasons without ever
owning a horse. The list of people I have to
thank is innumerable"

Bailey plans to continue her education in
the field of Equine Studies at Stockbridge
Agricultural School at the University of
Massachusetts, Amherst.
